About Us


Dragon Karate Academy was established in 1990. We teach traditional Shotokan Karate and compete in the World Karate Federation (WKF) events, such as British & European Karate Federation Championships.

We pride ourselves on providing a fun, safe and encouraging environment for our members. Our classes develop physical fitness, mental strength, coordination and valuable social skills.

We welcome new members of all ages, join us and have fun, get fit and make new friends.

Lead Instructor


Sensei Kirk Wasserman (5th Dan Black Belt)


Kirk was raised in South Africa where he began his karate journey, representing his country at National and International levels of competition.


He has a friendly and supportive teaching style, together with his natural ability and high technical skill Kirk will ensure you reach your full potential.
